Exxon gas station video near Honeygo Boulevard

BALTIMORE, MD - A seemingly ordinary Wednesday night at an Exxon gas station near Honeygo Boulevard and the White Marsh Mall in Baltimore took a violent turn on July 29, 2020, when a dispute over line-cutting escalated into a shooting.

According to eyewitness Daijuan Jett, a man attempted to cut in front of others in the line at the gas station. Another customer, who would later become the victim, confronted the line-cutter, insisting that he should wait his turn like everyone else.

The line-cutter left the queue and was followed by the angered customer, who tracked him to a silver car parked outside the station. The car was driven by a woman, who was reportedly trying to sell drugs to the victim's kids earlier.

The confrontation escalated when the angered customer opened the car's driver door and physically assaulted the woman. In response, a man in the car, believed to be the woman's boyfriend, drew a gun and fired multiple shots at the victim.

The victim was hit by two bullets and was immediately transported to a local hospital. His condition at the time was unknown, and no updates on his status have been released since the incident.

The Baltimore County Department’s Violent Crime Unit has called on the public to help identify the shooter and provide any additional information about the incident.

Despite the scarcity of information regarding the shooting victim's condition post-hospitalization and the legal consequences of the incident, the situation remains intriguing. It's easy to empathize with the frustration experienced when someone brazenly cuts in line, showing disregard for those patiently waiting their turn. However, the individual who was shot undeniably played an aggressive role. The video evidence clearly shows him opening the woman's car door and even assaulting her at one point. Yet, it's worth noting that the car was in the process of leaving the scene and could have continued to do so. In this situation, it appears that both parties bear some responsibility. It would indeed be interesting to learn how the legal authorities decided to handle this case.
